Jourdan A Carboy MD

is a resident physician in Portland, Oregon and a medical illustrator

Originally from Eagle River, AK, Dr. Carboy received a BS in neuroscience from Washington State University and went on to receive her MD at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX. She is currently completing her residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. She began illustrating while taking a year during medical school to complete research at which point she coauthored medical text book Facial Reconstruction after Mohs surgery with Dr. Jim Thornton. It was during this time she taught herself to create medical illustrations which were featured in the textbook. Her images have since been published in many medical journals, used in national presentations and supplemented anatomical instruction.
